QUALITY CONTROL (QC)
DSI Logistics Quality & Quantity Control Department carries out intensive fuel quality and quantity controls at every storage tank terminal that bears the DSI brand
Since 2022, these checks have been carried out daily by the specialized staff of the Quality & Quantity Control department by SGS, Bureau Veritas, Saybolt, Intertek, Geo Inspect, ICT ANALYTICS etc with the main aim of ensuring you receive and store top quality fuel at all times in the correct quantity.

What types of checks are carried out: Fuel Quality Control: Samples are taken from the pipeline nozzles of the pumps of each ship-tanks composite or shore-tanks and a quality control is carried out on each consecutive tanks to determined the quality and quantity of the products. The characteristics that are checked are: specific gravity, appearance, color and clarity, density, check for moisture or particles or foreign impurities/substances, state tracers and control of gasoline with a portable "Octaneometer", which provides indications for the Octane Number (RON) as well as for the detection of other chemical substances in gasoline.Quantitative Fuel Control:
It is important that the quantity received by DSI Logistics is correct at each storage point. Our technicians check the pumps with accredited 20-liter measuring containers (liter meters) and confirm that the pumps deliver the correct quantity at each storage terminal. In parallel with the pump inspection, the proper functioning of the terminal's liter meters is checked, so that the staff can measure the fuel's pumps correctly, on a daily basis. Checking Proper Sealing of Fuel Pumps: The fuel pumps are adjusted and sealed with appropriate seals. Our technicians confirm that the sealing of the pumps is appropriate, in accordance with the legislation and that no pump has been tampered with. Technical Inspection of Tanks and Quality Control of Products in Fuel Tanks: The condition of the terminal equipment (tanks) is checked as well as the quality control of the products in the fuel tanks (detection of water, particles and foreign substances). We thus ensure that the correct practices for storing and handling fuel are always followed at DSI. DSI's Quality & Quantity Control Department has been certified according to the new ISO 9001:2015 quality standards and this certification bears the signature of the independent, internationally recognized quality certification body BUREAU VERITAS, SGS, INTERTEK etc. All of this makes up the comprehensive DSI QUALITY ASSURANCE program, which aims to guarantee your confidence for every fuel stored at each of the DSI location throughout Europe, USA, ASIA.
